· Lomustine remt kanker (cytostaticum).
· Bij bepaalde vormen van kanker, zoals hersentumoren, longkanker, lymfeklierkanker, myeloom (beenmergkanker) en melanoom (huidkanker).
· Capsule: heel doorslikken met een half glas water op een lege maag. Een lege maag heeft u vanaf 3 uur na een maaltijd. Neem dit medicijn het liefst in voor u gaat slapen.
· Vraag een doseerschema met de dagen waarop u lomustine moet slikken.
· Bijwerkingen die u direct merkt: misselijkheid, braken en minder eetlust.
· Binnen enkele dagen tot weken: bloedarmoede, meer kans op bloedingen (zoals bloedneuzen) en pijnlijke mond en keel. Ook heeft u meer kans op infecties.
· Vraag advies wat u tegen de bijwerkingen kunt doen.
· Lomustine is zeer sterk werkzaam. Voorkom dat het poeder van een kapotte capsule kan verstuiven. Het is dan schadelijk voor uw huisgenoten. Breng een verpakking met kapotte capsules naar uw apotheek.
· Tijdens en gedurende 6 maanden na behandeling mag u niet zwanger worden. Ook mannen die lomustine gebruiken mogen in deze periode geen kind verwekken.
